Is Your Life's Fruit Bitter, Better, or Best?

BEARING FRUIT: We are called to bear fruit, which may be bitter or better, but the best fruit is produced by faith led by the Holy Spirit. Perseverance is an important aspect because failure occurs.

Don't Quit, Persevere - Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. (James 1:2-4) These have come so that your faith--of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire--may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed (1 Peter 1:7) Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:3-8.)  The New International Version, (Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan Publishing House) 1984
